Outstanding fabrication work. The shock mount being lower that the frame may cause an issue. I have not had that setup, so maybe Stump will jump in.......I thought there was issues with a bracket being sold that sat below the frame.

Looking forward to more progress pics!!!!!! Cool

Thanks for you comments PM1. What exactly are the issues you are talking about? If your talking about scrapin the road then i think i might be OK there, heres hoping. Very Happy

Yes there is! It acts like a snow plow and shears the smaller bolts off! Get them shocks as high up as you can in the arc of the cross bar!

Ok so ur sayin i might have scraping issues. gee, i hope not. Ill go with what i got for now and see how it goes. if i gotta do some mods latter then i got to do em. Damn. Confused

With standard shocks you may be ok, but the problem that I know of is if it scrapes ya don't have a second chance... It busts the small bolts and drops the frame to the ground... Being you have the room I'd move them up.

By the way if I haven't said already keep up the good work. Wink

thanks for your excellent advice XN. might be up for some high tensile bolts then. Its not as low as it looks but ill see how it looks when i get it on the ground. If need be, ill do some reconfiguring. Very Happy

Heres a little trick. I rough cut a plate and bent it where it was needed and tack welded it to the arm. then i just got a grinder and cut around it to shape. Done once, done right, done fast.

Welded some bracing so the warpage is kept to a minimum. Its a pull force not a push force so using thin metal is neither here nor there.

Un picked the tacks and removed the plate so i could weld in 3 bars for added support to the left side of the arm. they are welded inside the tube if you can see that.

This is all welded up now. i welded it with the final in place and the spreader tube over the axel to help hold it all still to help prevent warpage. I welded the shock mount first cause that wont affect warpge, then i welded the right side of the arm where it meets the original pivot part, then welded the left. I did this to minimise warpage. then i welded the right side to the left and added a gusset for strength. Lastly i welded the plate into the cuttout because this is the place where warpage is most likely to occur and with everything else welded and in place it helps keep it all still.
